Soothing, Relaxing Techniques
Swedish Massage
Swedish massage is a dynamic massage technique designed to break down tension and firm up muscles and joints. Its toning, relaxing effects stimulate blood and lymphatic circulation, eliminate toxins, and help the body find its natural equilibrium.
Californian Massage
Californian massage is first and foremost a soothing experience. It uses long, slow, and fluid movements for deep physical and mental relaxation. Beginning with gentle, circular strokes, the movements build in intensity to ease deeper tensions and can release hidden emotions locked in your body’s memory.
Hot Stone Massage
The Indians used hot stones to improve the flow of energy. This incredibly warm and gentle massage (which can also be stronger) relaxes and soothes to the core. The hot stones work on the chakras to harmonize energy. Particularly effective at soothing and releasing tension, it involves a full body massage from head to toe, on the back and then the stomach.
Shiatsu Massage
Shiatsu is a traditional Japanese technique that uses touch to reestablish vital energy flow (Qi) in parts of the body where it is either lacking or too abundant. Practitioners apply moderate pressure using the thumb and fingers—as well as palms, fists, elbows, knees, and even feet—on precise tsubo points along the meridians that regulate organs and specific functions.
Amma Massage
Amma massage is an energetic approach that dates back thousands of years and is based on the principles of traditional Japanese and Chinese medicines. It combines a number of body techniques including reflexology, shiatsu, Swedish massage, and chiropraxis. It seeks to eliminate blocked energy and promotes and maintains good health through a series of manoeuvres on 148 specific points along the meridians, muscles, and joints.
Pressotherapy
The main function of pressotherapy is the stimulation of blood and lymphatic flow to:
- Increase blood circulation and lymphatic flow
- Treat cellulite and/or obesity
- Strengthen skin elasticity
- Prevent varicose veins
- Aid with post delivery
Pressotherapy uses specialized equipment that provides a peristaltic massage thanks to tiers of superimposed chambers in the boots. Pressotherapy is ideal for people suffering from heavy legs, circulation problems or edema.
Reflexology
Reflexology practitioners exert sustained pressure, using their fingertips, on reflex zones or points on the feet, hands, and ears that correspond to organs and organ functions in order to stimulate the body’s self-healing processes. Reflexology does not claim to heal specific ailments, but instead aims to relieve a variety of conditions – from headaches to backaches – and helps relieve stress.
Bamboo massage (Africa)
A innovating expression of the hand thanks to the handling of various sizes of warm bamboos. A set of feelings subtle and astonishing, major, soft, stimulating or draining. It’s a dynamic massage which unties the tensions and stimulate the energy.
